Dress Code Policy

Dancers who ‘Look the part, play the part.’

We have found that in the classes where dancers are dressed more professionally, the students take the class more seriously.  We understand that dance classes are an investment for the families and we want our students to get as much out of class as they can.  We believe that requiring them to dress a certain way will help them better attain the expectations of the class.

Of course, we will have ‘fun’ dress days throughout each semester as well.

GW&S - Comfortable clothing - elastic waisted bottoms and tees/tanks are acceptable, leotards (w/ or w/out skirts) and tights are recommended.  Pink leather or pleather ballet slippers (no satin slippers) for girls, and black for boys.

All dancers will be allowed to wear studio-wear tees, tanks, shorts, capris, etc. as warm ups but must have the appropriate required attire underneath and will be required to remove it at the teacher’s request for correction of technique.  Please put your students name or initials in ALL clothes/shoes worn in to dance class.

Withdrawl Policy

Students who must withdraw from class during the semester must submit a written withdrawal notice to the studio.  Failure to attend class is not notice of withdrawal.  Tuition will be charge, on a pro-rated scale, through one month following withdrawal.  If a student had committed to performing in the recital and did not withdraw before the second week of class of the semester, the student will be accountable for any costume fees incurred.

Dancers dropping at semester will be subject to the 'semester-only' tuition and may have a tuition balance reflected on the account after withdrawl.

Attendance / Tardiness Policy

All students are expected to attend their regularly scheduled classes. Each class offers a step forward in the educational process. A missed class could leave a child one step behind the other students. It is important for children to feel completely confident with the choreography and their technique. Missing class for an extended period or on a regular basis could result in frustration for the students and their teachers and classmates.

Photo / Video Release

Over the course of the dane year, photos and videos may be taken of dancers and participants.  If you do not give permission for images of your child, captured during regular and special dance events throughout the year to be used solely for the purpose of promotional materials and publications, and do not waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto, written notice must be submitted to the studio no later than 1 week following your registration for dance classes.
